cool who is the lucky person?

did you stick a bslca card in the glove box?

now it is full steam ahead on the ss troopy!

And the new owner IS _____________________???

Eric and Jonna Anderson from Houston area that now lives here in Lafayette. Good guy it seems. He plans on joining when last we spoke. Will said it best when he said how much it would hurt to see the rig at meetings but we're both glad it's going to a good home and staying around locally. That made it better.

You all know I've said that everyone wants a 18K rig for 6K. Well, it seems that he understands that the rig is not pristine but if purchased to drive and enjoy w/ a little work along the way.. he has a good rig.

I hope he enjoys it. ... I know I have. It's the rig that "started it all"... the BSLCA!

I'll miss it :crybaby:

As far as the Troopy... let the ordering begin! :bounce2:

I miss my 45pickup, other than that, I'm over all the others...LOL...

Let's start off by ordering an H55F from Man-a-fre for $750 .

What have you decided with regard to the propane? Keeping that setup or going to just gasoline?

You could always go 100% NON-USA with a BRAND NEW NON-USA CARBURETOR. That'd be pretty darn sweet.

I vote for the non-usa carb, ditch the propane for gas, (Because you would hit the tank on every obsticle on the trail and have a peice of mind if you breakdown your not completely screwed. Save it for the beast) Shed the top and get the cage in. 3 inch lift with 1 inch shackles, or 2 1/2 with 2 inch shackle or 4 inch custom springs whatever you decide we agree it need to be elevated on at least 33's. Aussie in the rear. 3 bench seats so we can all ride. As for tranny I'd wheel it like it is and put the $750 into the body treatment.

i vote SOA with 38" iroks, and a double long metal tech cage, but thats just me :grinpimp: i like the 3 bench seat idea too.

LOL... all good thoughts.... I'll let you know soon enuff..

Gonna do a bit more looking then we're off an runnin.

Agree w/ landry..... I think the "bomb" in the back needs to be above the axles... lol

me!

4-Sale 78 restoration project Brian Carpenter. He's done alot of metal work on the tub which is almost complete. Frame looks like it was blasted and painted at one time. Engine is said to run but has a wrist pin knock on the #1 cylinder. Hard-top and Amb doors are there, hard doors he said are ruff shape. New 4inch suspension and a few other things. He's asking $3500 for all of it. I'll add his number tonight. Not 4-sale but took a picture of his FJ60 he bought from Will. He just recently did a SOA lift on it. Its in good shape minor damage to the back tailgate but looks great. :)

Free FJ40 parts
Over the years, I have been the owner of at least seven Land Cruisers but sold the last one recently. I ended up with three sets of sides for hard tops of the 1967 FJ40 style. The tops have been disassembled but all glass is in place. I have one fiberglass top that has rust on the metal rim. I also have two doors that have been stripped of hardware and a gas tank from a 1969 FJ40. I also have a complete transmission and transfer case with vacuum shift that fits a very early FJ40 or even the FJ25/FJ35. The shift shafts are on the side if the transmission. Set of Rear Jump Seats out of a 1972 FJ40.

I am loosing my storage space at the end of December and need to give these parts to someone who can put them to good use. They are absolutely free if you can use them. If not, please spread the word.

Wow, if I could muster the time it would be worth dragging the trailer up there to pick it all up. :crybaby: Thanks for posting bud.

There is this 80 series in mandeville I always see on the side of the road. It almost looks like it has been stolen and left for dead. It looks like it hasn't moved in a long time. It is in a nice neighborhood in front of someones house. I got out of my rig to snooped around a bit. Inside the steering column plastic is ripped off but the ignition is all intact. The back seats are gone including 3d row and all carpet. Center console is gone as well. ( TRAIL RIG! RIGHT?). I left a card. Hopefully we here something. I was going to knock on the door of the house it is in front of, but didn't want to freak anyone out. If they get back to me, maybe someone in the club is interested, it should be cheap in the condition it is in.

I have two 8274's. One is apart (I'm rebuilding it and considering keeping it around...unsure) and the other one is in awesome condition (it was for a Jeep Girl and she never used it). Anyway, I planned to stick it on my 80 series, but it'll be some work and I'm not up for that much fabrication. I know that many of you need a winch. The winch is already BOXED and ready to SHIP, so if one of you guys in the club wants it, you need to let me know by Wednesday, or it's gone.
