Rebecca C. quoted quoted me right at 30k for a brand new TRD Racing edition last year.

Yeah, I'd think that he's trying to get some of his investments out of it.

Good luck to him

10-4 . I gave up on that long time ago.... I paid just over 8k for my rig when I bought it from Wimberley years ago. Just THREE of my upgrades costed me more than the whole rig!
Anyway, some of you know that I listed my FJ40. I got responses already and despite what some of you told me---the first thing the guy asked for was paperwork/scans of the paperwork on the rig. Luckily, everything has its own folder, and my FJ40 has it's own. I'll likely list it on here later...as I told him, I'm not in a rush, don't need the money, and are indifferent about it...I just want the RAV and FZJ covered and don't want to kick the 40 out in the rain...it's alway been garaged. I want to get a trail rig (like the one I tried to buy----remember that one????) I'd entertain the idea of trading for diesel as well...anyway, I'll have a site up for it soon and I'll post details here later...to summarize, I get bored and lately, I'm thinking about a 63/64 vintage to paw-paw around in. I'll gladly removed the fuel injection for a future project rig as well ;)

Later,

Mike

I didn't know you are thinking about getting rid of the 40. I have a relative that is looking for one just like yours. He is an older man that wants somthing to park in his garage at his cabin in NC.

Matt is looking for a straight axle early PU 84/85 is his preference if anyone comes accross one please let me know or email Matt. :) We hooked him he's already looking for a trail truck.

I am looking for a reliable Toyota truck or cruiser
$5k range
If its a truck, it doesn't have to be 4wd

No 4WD are you going soft Jason  If its 4wd it can serve a dual purpase until the 40 is back on the trail. :D

I want to be able to haul parts. 4wd would be cool but in my price range, might not be too reliable right off the bat, lol

Recently discovered an 85 extended cab for $500 between New Iberia and Delcambre off of Hwy 14. The bed is rusted out and its old looking but a perfect trail truck. Didn't poke around to much because all I need is the front axle not a whole vehicle. If direction are needed let me know. The 85 is EFI and straight axle, the old man said it ran but the battery is dead thats all I know.

I have no idea if this is really a 'great deal' or not, just passing it along.
I am not affiliated in any way & don't know the seller

"Im selling a 85 toyota 22refi. Great working condition with no leaks. Pulled out a month ago to be replaced with a v-8. This motor is complete with working alternator, water pump, starter, transfer case, and radaitor.Still has plugs with wires attached. The mileage is 152,500. Im asking 1750$-obo for everything. A jasper block alone is 1700$ so i consider this a great deal to get started."

Thanks John. Matt called last week and bought 79 PU in Alabama for a trail truck. He said the cab was in good shape but like all the early PU's the bed is rusted so he'll look for a bed or tube it. I like the tube it idea myself. :D

I feel very comfortable knowing that my FJ40 will be going to a diehard cruiserhead's home. My cruiser has never spent a day in the rain and has been extremely well cared for. I feel very reassured that she couldn't be going to a better home. You know when you are talking to someone whose as passionate about cruisers as you are when you feel like you could just go on and on and on about cruisers...anyway, it's not just going to a guy that wants a Land Cruiser, etc. And for that, I am glad. The other night, when I told the mrs. and kids, they were shocked. They didn't think I was serious. They had all sorts of questions...probing me for answers. They said "its like part of the family leaving"...etc...etc...and you know, in a strange sort of way, I just smiled....knowing that I'd been told just a few hours earlier just how seeing a cruiser go felt. I tend to get bored with things and move on. I have had many cruisers, so I've seen MANY leave. The 45 pickup is the only one I wish I'd have kept. At any rate, I'm pleased to know that I'm not selling the truck because I have to, but rather because I'm ready to move on to something else (perhaps a very old 1950's vintage FJ25 or 1966 FJ45 SWB pickup???)....only future holds.

Yeah, you're my bud.... I think you've lost your mind. I would have built a new home to hold more cruisers rather than to sell that one That thing was sweet and everyone knew it in town. Too many mods to keep track of. Quietest 40 I've EVER ridden in. If I were at a different place in life, I would have bought it in a second. Just wasn't what I needed at the moment.

However, I understand. New Avatars and sig lines... sometimes you just need a chancge. Landry always says he's not married to any of them.

Can't wait until you find something new. Until then.. I'll be sending you what I find. I'm on hold for the trail truck and the new shop. Then... watch out... will be collecting them. :D

I don't see how he can do it either. To give you an example, Someone could want to trade me their encapsulated fj-60 with 0 miles on it for my 60 which is not a beauty queen and I would say no way. I guess that I have been through so much with the truck, it literally has become a member of the family. To me, Mike is lucky not to have facet of the sickness, and I can't wait to see his new rig and what he is capable of doing, when it comes to mods.

I will be picking up the cruiser today in Lafayette, if anyone wants to get together for lunch let me know.
