Recently discovered an 85 extended cab for $500 between New Iberia and Delcambre off of Hwy 14. The bed is rusted out and its old looking but a perfect trail truck. Didn't poke around to much because all I need is the front axle not a whole vehicle. If direction are needed let me know. The 85 is EFI and straight axle, the old man said it ran but the battery is dead thats all I know.
I feel very comfortable knowing that my FJ40 will be going to a diehard cruiserhead's home. My cruiser has never spent a day in the rain and has been extremely well cared for. I feel very reassured that she couldn't be going to a better home. You know when you are talking to someone whose as passionate about cruisers as you are when you feel like you could just go on and on and on about cruisers...anyway, it's not just going to a guy that wants a Land Cruiser, etc. And for that, I am glad. The other night, when I told the mrs. and kids, they were shocked. They didn't think I was serious. They had all sorts of questions...probing me for answers. They said "its like part of the family leaving"...etc...etc...and you know, in a strange sort of way, I just smiled....knowing that I'd been told just a few hours earlier just how seeing a cruiser go felt. I tend to get bored with things and move on. I have had many cruisers, so I've seen MANY leave. The 45 pickup is the only one I wish I'd have kept. At any rate, I'm pleased to know that I'm not selling the truck because I have to, but rather because I'm ready to move on to something else (perhaps a very old 1950's vintage FJ25 or 1966 FJ45 SWB pickup???)....only future holds.
Yeah, you're my bud.... I think you've lost your mind. I would have built a new home to hold more cruisers rather than to sell that one That thing was sweet and everyone knew it in town. Too many mods to keep track of. Quietest 40 I've EVER ridden in. If I were at a different place in life, I would have bought it in a second. Just wasn't what I needed at the moment.
However, I understand. New Avatars and sig lines... sometimes you just need a chancge. Landry always says he's not married to any of them.
Can't wait until you find something new. Until then.. I'll be sending you what I find. I'm on hold for the trail truck and the new shop. Then... watch out... will be collecting them.
I don't see how he can do it either. To give you an example, Someone could want to trade me their encapsulated fj-60 with 0 miles on it for my 60 which is not a beauty queen and I would say no way. I guess that I have been through so much with the truck, it literally has become a member of the family. To me, Mike is lucky not to have facet of the sickness, and I can't wait to see his new rig and what he is capable of doing, when it comes to mods.
I will be picking up the cruiser today in Lafayette, if anyone wants to get together for lunch let me know.

There's a rig for me to tear up!!!
