3x Locked 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser – Extremely Well-Maintained & Heavily Upgraded

Runs perfectly. Zero rust. 264k miles. Meticulous ownership with extensive recent maintenance and top-tier upgrades.

This 80-series has been babied and constantly improved. I invested over $40,000 in parts and service alone in the last 3 years to make it as reliable, capable, and comfortable as possible. Everything major has been addressed proactively.

Major Recent Mechanical Work
  • Full timing chain service, new head gasket, fuel injectors, spark plugs, and distributor
  • Complete cooling system refresh: Koyorad radiator, Aisin water pump, Aisin fan clutch, new fan, thermostat, hoses, and new coolant
  • Nitro 4.88 regear, front/rear diff rebuilds, and knuckle rebuilds
  • Tom Woods front & rear double cardan drive shafts
  • New brake master cylinder, EBC rotors/pads, extended brake lines, and full brake bleed
  • Fresh steering box, pitman arm, tie rods, tie rod ends, and alignment work
  • Transmission flush, power steering flush, and all fluids serviced regularly. Trans shifts smooth and solid.
  • Multiple engine oil changes with high-quality 10W-40, fuel filter, air filter, and all new belts
  • AC runs perfectly cold all day. Heater also blows hot. Tested AC, no leaks. Rear heater bypass installed.
  • All electrical components work: windows, sunroof, lights, horn. New switches and interior lights. New headlights and horns.
  • Differentials all lock and function properly. 4 Wheel Low and High performance flawlessly. Diff fluids changed recently as well.
  • New Muffler and titanium pipe wrap. Quiet and smooth.
  • Solve Function hood risers installed, improving engine bay airflow and reducing engine temps 10 degrees.
  • No engine leaks, no diff grind or roar, no gear shift slippage, no birfield clicks.
Suspension & Off-Road Upgrades
  • Dobinsons springs (146/147 VT) and Dobinsons IMS 4-5” shocks giving 3.5" lift and even stance/rake.
  • Delta 3L radius arms + Dobinsons bushings
  • Whiteline front & rear beefy sway bars with drop links/brackets. Stabilizes the ride amazingly.
  • Ironman adjustable panhard bars front/rear + Delta 3” rear panhard relocation bracket
  • Metal Tech upper and lower rear adjustable links
  • Falken RT01 38x13.5x17 tires - quiet on road, capable off road, aggressive sidewall
  • SCS F5 wheels in Gunmetal Gray with -38mm offset for perfect poke
  • Extended diff breathers and SS braided brake lines
  • No tire-wheel well contact at full lock or articulation. Tracks straight down the road, handles road and trail bumps excellently.
Body, Interior & Comfort Upgrades
  • Coastal Off-road High Clearance front bumper
  • Dissent Off-road Extreme High Clearance rear bumper
  • All three rows reupholstered with real genuine leather from L Seat
  • New thick and plush carpet, deep blue contrasts with tan leather seats
  • Full sound deadening - made the ride feel luxury car premium
  • Rosen visors, new door panels, classy wooden steering wheel, and more
  • New headliner cleaning, weather stripping, exterior window visors, and sunroof drain cleaning
  • Fenders have new trim molding and hardware for proper seating and no rattle
  • Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED pods on front bumper - super crazy bright
  • Fresh grille, emblems, hood and hatch struts, tailgate storage hatch, and more cosmetic/detailing work
  • Fluid Film coated frame + full undercarriage clean, seal, and recoat. Zero rust.
This Land Cruiser has been maintained with an obsessive attention to detail — many items were replaced preventively well before failure. It drives tight, quiet, and strong with no known issues. It is garage-kept and rarely driven (during my ownership).

Serious buyers only. No deals. No trades. Feel free to ask any questions or request more photos.

So many cool original ideas on this, nice work! I’m intrigued by the center console area. GLWS!
Thanks. I simply removed the center console - the storage area, if that's what you're referring to. I like my space a little more open. Could easily reinstall.

This Landcruiser's narrative is that it was driven as a normal SUV until about 245k miles, and then began its makeover transformation where it now sits at 264k miles. IOW, it has seen light/normal use throughout its life and has been cleaned, lubed, fixed, repaired, upgraded, and babied over the last 3 years. It hasn't been bashed on rocks or flooded in rivers or rusted in the snow (it's a southern vehicle).

I've owned Toyotas since the early 2000s. Here's my first, a 1998 T-100 (still running today at +360k miles):

Here's my next, a 3rd Gen Tacoma:

My third was a 3rd Gen Tundra:

All of these were great, and I had many awesome experiences and memories in them. So, when I happened upon this Landcruiser, I scooped it up and spent a few years fixing things and upgrading it. When the project was finished, I took it on a road trip camping.

But ever since that trip, it's sat in my garage unused and rarely driven. I maybe put 400 miles on it in the last year. After a while I figured it's time to move on and let someone else enjoy this beautiful machine.

So, I guess the point is, I love Toyotas. I've taken great pride in and care of mine over the years. I've had many fun times and memories in them. Now, I hope this LC80 can find a good home.
