I have been getting a loud squeal when driving 25 MPH plus in gear. When I take it out of gear it goes away so I assume it has something to do with the clutch or tranny. Throw out bearing? It is pretty loud enough to drown out my stereos music that is already up high enough to hear in this loud truck.

Whatever it is I fear it will be bad.

Sounds like the throwout bearing to me. Does the noise change when you push in on the clutch ?

I will have to go out for a drive but I'm pretty sure it goes away when I step on the clutch

Eliminates the T/O brg, must be something deeper:frown: Checked the fluid levels?

All kidding aside, a bad throwout bearing will squeal until you step on the clutch.

Throw-outs don't usually make that much noise, to drown out a stereo, & they are noisy all the time, especially when hot. Maybe the pilot bearing? Whatever it is, it is getting ready to seize, so fix it before it breaks.

How do you figure that? the bearing doesn't turn till its engaged:rolleyes:
