This is an interesting thread and a puzzler of an issue.
Both of my Cruisers, the FJ62 and the FJ40, make this noise. I thought I was missing an anti-rattle clip, but I now see I have them in place both sides. I think the clips I have are too chincy, and are ineffective. I also notice that the clips drag on the rotor, so I think I did not correctly install them. I bought all new clips the other day and am going to replace them all. I will post up results here. I will also check the caliper bolts as long as I'm in the neighborhood!
