so somewhere along the road i lost the shim that goes between the axle and front right leafies, i'm at a loss as to how to fix it, the axle is no longer perpendicular to the frame and the tierod mount and shock are rubbing, has this ever happened to anyone? what do i do?

Here are pictures of the damage, alright, I hit a low water crossing really hard and heard a thunk, I thought the clunk was just the spring flexing, I thought wrong.
I'm at a loss as to what to do with the axle/spring, I'll start by ordering a new shim, but has this ever happened to anyone?

Wow. A couple of things come to mind...
Springs are bent. Might have been a really hard hit.
U-bolts on really loose. Any time u-bolts are changed (like when the shims were installed) they need to be tightened up a few times. Like every 200 miles 3 or 4 times.
A shim popping out could be due to the loose u-bolts. Or it could be that the spring pin wasn't long enough to fit deeply enough into the axle. Suggest this be checked.

I'm guessing the spring pin as well. There's a bolt that goes through the center of the leaf springs to locate them while the U-bolts hold them together. I sheared one of mine off and the axle twisted under the truck just like that.
The picture of the other side looks like a small shim used to correct the caster which will help the truck drive in a straight line.

Good site, sometime the prices are high but for $30 you should be good to go again.
