OK, I'm sure this is a common thing but I haven't been able to find the answer here.

So, the current vehicle is an '82 fj60 that is new to me. It's been setting for a looong time (over 10years) and it's taken a wail to get it running (cloged fuel lines, etc). Now it will start on starter fluid, and runs great, but if it sets for any length of time it requires another sniff of starter fluid to start again.

Losing fuel prime to the carburetor is a similar issue to my fj40 post carburetor rebuild. My neighbor's fj60 is similar, but these vehicles are after sitting for a few days. My fj60 is like 2 min, and no starting.

Replace / adjust float valve /needle, Top of carburetor. RFG eats the viton tip of the needle. Use pure gas, no ethanol.

Orgodiesel...

You could also check your fuel pressure. Does the sight glass fill up to half way on the carb? Is your carb fan working? (if not, the fuel will boil out pretty quickly when hot).
