I never liked pale ale's till I brewed up about 52 of em :D
Go ahead and keep your eyes out for some soda kegs, its sooooo much nicer than the mess that becomes bottling. Only good news was every time i brewed a batch I also mopped the kitchen floor.

Thats the same kit I got alex a couple years back, Im still rocking the plastic bucket carboy but it works.

This kit came with a glass carboy and the plastic bucket using one as a "secondary". Got the turkey fryer today from Lowe's ($45) and made my immersion wort cooler. Tomorrow may be the day for the first brew attempt...
 
Today was first brew day. All went as expected, just took longer than expected for the whole process. The home made immersion cooler worked perfectly and I got an original specific gravity reading right in the middle of what the instructions said it should.

Now the hard part, patience...:beer:

WHatever you do, do not mix your two hobbies. It would be a shame to build that 45 out of level :)
 
I have that same kit. It has been in my closet for about a year and a half after I made about 6-7 batches and ended up getting obsessed with something else and losing intrest. But If I hear correctly, someone mentioned a "Brew Off"!! I'm in!!
