Hi everyone, I am shopping for a "new" vehicle. Came across this extremely clean example of a 1999 LX470, with roughly 200,000KM (125,000 Miles). Second owner since 2006, always lexus serviced never winter driven. He is asking 26 CAD (19500 USD). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Looks clean but more pictures is a must. Would only pay that much is all expensive parts have been replaced and no rust. Timing belt, no leaking power steering rack or leaking CV boots, no brake booster issues and records of brake fluid maintenance, diff lock works, no serious cracking on bushings around the suspension, new radiator or at least coolant system maintenance records. The "always lexus serviced" may be good but if it was just brake jobs and oil changes then it doesnt help you too much. Make sure to get the full list of records before making any decision. Also make sure to check all motors in seats, power locks, sunroof. Age alone can cause failures and that can all add up

Thanks very much I was planning on offering around 22K CAD. The belts have all been done he has full records which i hope to see prior to making the trip out to see the vehicle.

I think that sounds a little high for a 4 speed truck with decent mileage.

I assume this is in CAN and not CR. I'd be very particular about checking the underside for rust as well. I would think someone who likes stick on fender vents, chrome door handle covers, and chrome stick on tail light trim to not know that an undercarriage exists.

^ agreed with above. When I see wheels/trim like that I start to assume more bad than good.

How’s the master/booster and fluid color. Same with radiator fluid.

HAHA I just noticed the vents..those would be coming off and rims and tires gone...it has zero rust only summer driven here in Canada its the salt that kills ya. Interior seems a lot nicer than most of the ones i see for sale with 125K Miles.

the price seems a little high, but it's a very nice looking truck overall ( except the FUGLY wheels)
I would make the seller drop the price by at least 1-2k as a penalty for choosing those wheels

LOL...They are certainly early 2000s....I've already told him to keep thr rims and I will pay less. He has the original rims and tires....but he wont separate them. I guess i could sell the rims and tires for a grand? They are new tires....

Looks great. Timing belt sticker shows the seller wanted to maintain it...I'd show up with cash ready to buy before someone else gets this beauty.

It's expensive as s*** but the reality is the industry is changing and vehicles like these are going to hold higher values...

If it's not too rusty this is a great find. Seller appears to be living in a nice neighborhood too which is another plus. Hard to find these vehicles not all kitted out for "overlanding" I think you also want to check the AHC suspension stuff to make sure it's all still functional

Thanks very much I appreciate the input yes its a beauty i think. Very well looked after.

For sure, almost never see the front seats not ripped up. They look a bit cracked but no biggie. I'd focus more on the mechanical and rust side of things. Maybe ask for some pics of the underside.

I'm not sure how the market is up there, but lately down here something like that would sell before you have a chance to look at it ( if its clean underneath )

The giant Lexus logo in the rear center console + chrome is so weird though. Hmmmm Im trying to figure out what type of person would do that

honestly the chrome is working to my advantage i think. ;)

If this was lifted with black rims etc...it would be gone. But it would also be in worse condition lol. nothing better than buying a car from someone who loved it

Are the chrome bits easy to remove? Around the grill and lights and the fake vent?

I feel like this seller bought this for what most people did in that time, luxury SUV, nothing spelled luxury like chrome back then. If i was in the market I’d be all over this, all this chrome tells me how much they loved it and how they didn’t change much if anything over the years! We have to remember that the look we are used to on 100s with lift, racks, bumpers, off road wheels and tires are more recent and this one is exactly how they were modded in 1999.

Agreed, I just need to get a good price on my C43 AMG. And im done

I would concentrate on body panels, make sure all the VIN stickers are matching and all the body lines are accurate. 1st photo shows a the gap between the front fender and hood to be a little bigger than it should and the hood looks like a lighter shade of white, this could be camera angle though. Documented bug service would be nice too, brake booster assembly, starter, timing belt, axles axles/flanges. But choose your battles it’s a 25 year old vehicle!

Good Point, i dont mind doing the service. This will be my daily...ya i know MPG lol.
