Good info in the FAQ section on checking out a new truck. Check Slee Offroad for a similar list of stuff to check.
See if the timing belt service has been done. If not, allow another $1000 or so for that and the water pump.
Go on the Lexus owners website and input the VIN...you'll see service done at Lexus dealers since the truck was new.
Have a pre-purchase inspection done at an Lexus dealer who's not a party to the sale, or a good indy mechanic that knows Cruisers.
Since it's a northeast car, I'd be under it checking for rust.
