well my landcruiser is up to 200000 miles so im thinking about upgrading to a FJ. Just a few qestions if you odnt mind answering....... do the rear windows go down on the half doors? I got a dog that loves to sick his head out a window and if im driving he will try to use mine...... Anyone ever order one with the super charger? how is it? Is there any common problems, or things that i should not get when ordering one? whats the true gass milage...... and are they as good as previous toyoters? any help would be greatly appricated

Well the half windows do not go down they are fixed, they dont even pop open. I know a few people that have put superchargers on them, obviously it lowers the life of the engine, URDs charger puts out more power than the TRD but also puts more ware on the engine. If you do the supercharger a regear is a good idea. Common problems on would be on the 07s some peoples rear ends greanaded, and fenders bulged with too much weight or flex under the hood. I have a MT and with my lift i average about 14 mpg. So far havent had any mechanical problems with mine though. Hope this helps
We travel with 2 GDS and a Boston and my backseat is rarely up. I get 17 mpg with an automatic and 14 mpg when towing. My warranty just expired on an 07. Replaced rear output seal on the T-case and u-joints.
great trucks...love mine. I will soon have to make decision between my 84 FJ60 that has been in family since it was first bought new in 1984.....or my 2008 FJ Cruiser. Love both dearly.....the comfort, capability, and work in my FJC is battling the history, love and soul of my FJ60.

i actually have a buddy who had his windows modified to open. now every window on his rig opens in some way. his rear he had go down into the door so now its front and rear windows are power, and his quarter windows just flip open. i will try to get some pictures
That would be nice to see. There have been quite a few who have been working on getting the suicide door windows to open, being unsuccessful. If you post up pics and who did it, he will have a line of FJC's waiting to get it done...
From my study of the issues to get this done, it does seem like a big challenge.
The glass is sandwiched in between three pieces, sandwiched between the outer sheetmetal and the plastic of the inside.
But, lets see what comes of this member's friend...
i should have pics up of it in a couple of days. he said the only real problem that there was was that the glass is actually larger than what it looks. it had to be cut then made to fit. the waterproofing wasnt that hard neither was the power rear window. he says cutting the pieces and the space was the most time consuming.
