If you have the LX470 with the AHC option (standard on all US LX470s AFIK) then you won't be able to replace your 'shocks' without ripping out the entire AHC system (replace shocks, springs, torsion bars, remove AHC components, cap or remove lines, etc.).
There are aftermarket options for improving the LC/LX's handling, but personally I think the AHC suspension is one of the smoothest can have for city / highway driving in these tanks. If it's rough, bottoming out, doesn't seem to change between the comfort and sport settings, or otherwise doesn't feel right then you may have AHC issues.
