Wanted Looking for father/son project

I am looking for a father/son "project" for my sons first car. I had a great 78 some years ago that I was planning on keeping for him but had to sell for financial reasons. I am now looking for something that doesn't need much body work if any at all (any paint condition is fine). Ideally stock 6 but a 350 conversion could work. Really something we can work on together over the next year and then customize together once he turns 16. Location near Houston would be ideal and budget is 6-7k but could go higher if basically ready to go except customization (like lift/interior etc). Thanks.
