Industrial Metal Supply
48th St. and Roeser

They have remanant pieces that they sell for less.

sorry - nothing that big.

Did you get enough for me:idea:

Hi Phil...I just got a bit in a smaller diameter for my smog pump project. Plus a couple sheets of .250 for some new bench tops.

I could be convinced to head up tomorrow and pick up some more metal. If you want to ride with? I need to pickup some 2 inch square tubing in case santa's sled is broken. :)

The sixty will haul 10 footers no problem.

Send me a pm or give me a ring if you want to go.

try Davis Metals 3337 E Washington St Phoenix

I get steel there regularly. They've got decent prices, a big supply, plenty of useful scrap, but no DOM.

Tube Service - downtown Phx

Everyone says this is the highest price you'll pay for good tube. It's probably true for small orders. When I bought 200', though, it was the best price.

I haven't gone east of Davis for steel in a long time, but when I used to live near Scottsdale and McDowell, I'd occassionally get supplies at BGB Steel. They're on Miller at the dead end below Curry Rd. and Tempe Town Lake. I don't know if they stock DOM, though.

Agree, it depends on what you need. When I need bulk go to one of the big places. Metal Supermarkets specializes in small pieces, sell by the inch and doesn't charge a cut fee. You will pay more per foot, but for small jobs it is handy to order precut pieces, ready to use. In this case it is often cheaper than paying the cut fees at the bigger places. They cut with a band saw, so clean and accurate, also shear sheet, do small ironworker runs, like hole punching, at completive prices.

I only wanted 48" Metal Supermarket cost was higher then online with shipping.

Adavanced ususally gives me free cut on the long stuff. Everything comes in 20 foot lengths. It is called the transport cut. Idustrial Metal Supply in tempe also has this policy. But if you are looking for a single piece and a short length, it pays to just walk around back and look. Bring a caliper and find what you want. Ask a dude from inside to come out and tell you what it costs.

Shearing and stuff is usually cheap. I got a 4 foot quarter inch plate lopped in half for 5 bucks.
