I needed to get my elbow on the Tuffy and found that moving the cupholders to the backside was what worked best for me. That allowed me to shift the Tuffy forward. Just a FYI to help with visualizing the position you need.

this is a tuffy installed far better than stock but it need a better interior. its just a big cavernous metal box. Im fabbing up some inserts for it now.

I went to the u-pull auto salvage and found the arm rests and when I got to the mounting hardware I sadly discovered that this is not an easy cut! . Did you use a grinder to cut the welding points?
