Unsolicited advice.

If you recently purchased the pig, give it some time before worrying about individual body components because, odds are you're needing more than fenders.

SOR probably realized there's so small a market a second production run was unwarranted.

For the most part, have to repair the body with patches, ala @bobm, because there's very few that don't need some form of rot abatement.

Thanks for the reply. The body on mine has been gone through and all rust free except some surface rust on the hood. Fixing the fenders isn't an option because I'm missing both front lower fenders. I know there is more that I will need once I have a chance to inventory everything. If I come across a set of fenders I will definitely buy them now so I can get it all painted while it's taken apart. Unfortunately I didn't come across this pig before he started parting out some of the stuff he had with it. He had a new set of NOS fenders from Toyota....

I would try Classic Cruisers in Salida, CO. They have a bunch of FJ55's. Most of the ones I saw had the rust holes at the bottom, but that is an easy fix. Good luck, Steve

I just bought a 1970 FJ55 and I need a lot

More unsolicited advice.

After spending the last six months watching every part that had any value to your new 55 being sold to the highest bidder I’m assuming that you’ll need more than front fenders.

Parts for these 55’s are very hard to find and expensive when you do, you might be better off to take a few days and price things like window rubber, dash pad, mirrors, factory emblems and other missing parts and see if buying another complete parts 55 might save you money in the long run.

Again good luck and I’m looking forward to your build..

Buying another complete one for parts is definitely something I have considered. There are a few things that I already got from him or will be this week like a set of mirrors and the wing window rubber. I've priced out the rest of the rubber already and know that isn't cheap. I've owned a 1964 Lincoln Continental so rare expensive parts is nothing new to me, LOL. I keep kicking myself for selling that car...

How much?

Could be rollin' in that six fo', once again.....

He had a new set of NOS fenders from Toyota....

Worst mistake I made was selling a set I had, thinking I had everything covered.

Another major mistake, selling an NOS tailgate.

BUT, after all that, the insult to injury was the 6 second delay, bumping bid up on BOTH NOS fenders, as both auctions closed simultaneously, and thought I was high bidder on BOTH.

I have one of your Pig's NOS fenders that I'll reunite the both of you with, for what I paid plus shipping........that is, unless you want to pick up some coin and relinquish right to that rust free body.

How much on the Lincoln? I sold it to a friend for $4400 years ago. He put another $15k into it shortly after...

I'll PM you about the fender. Not sure if I can spend that much for a NOS fender right now though.

Awesome, and the light too. Those aren't as common as the 40 lights.

That can easily be patched.

How is the mating surface between the two panels? That can (will) get rusty and a pain to fix too.

On the inside where the two panels meet it's rusty for sure. Worse in one spot and not as bad for the rest. But I don't know if it's bad enough to where anything needs to be cut out. Theres only bolts on each end. Are there spot welds holding them together or just the bolts? Or maybe these are rusted together...
