Well folks, the search is on. I'm looking to buy a new vehicle and I figured I'd start here. I have about 7 or 8,000 to spend. I'd really like to get a Tacoma, older one that I can lift and put some tires on and do some mild wheeling. 4WD is a must, extended cab would be real nice. If anyone knows of one around please let me know. I'm also willing to consider a 80 series. But the gas mileage on those might hold me back, plus the fact that they're probably out of my price range. This is going to be my DD, so I need something reliable. I appreciate any help ya'll can give me.

What you really need is an '83 Mercedes 300TDT. You can knock a zero off of your price range and it gets great fuel mileage. It's also an offroad monster. Just don't get it anywhere near wet grass. That's it's one weakness. You're guarentteed to be hopelessly stuck in it. I know just where to find one too if you're looking...which you're not...but I thought I'd try...

300GD :) G class mercedes, boxy, powered on veggie, and can get some 1970s models for cheaper.
