title says it all.

Looking for one in better condition, preferably with a motorswap. Keep your eyes peeled.;)

what am i looking for exactly.

What needs to be on a 40 to make it a good trail rig?

What trails? Driving or trailering to the trail? How many comfort features do you need to be happy? What tire size do you think you'll need? How do you drive (hammerhead or slow and precise)? Ever wheeled a 40 before?

There are almost as many different ways to build a capable 40 as there are folks who drive them. We need you to add some more info. :D

Forgot to add: I'm still in NJ for another week. If you find something on this end of the country (CT down to northern MD) I can probably pick it up and tow dolly it out for you for some gas money...

Thanks Onur. It's been exciting researching parts, what works, comparing that to my mini background..feel like a kid again. :) Starting to think like a cruiserhead.

Not with a 2F you wouldn't have.. I want the Chebby conversion as much as the hardtop.

You guys will have fun watching this buildup..:grinpimp:

Cool... congrats.

Wonder how he got 3" of lift? Most kits are 4". Doesn't look like long shackles from the pic.

If they are decent lift springs, and you are going SOA, I might be interested in those...maybe even work out a trade for my stockers?? Sorry...getting ahead of myself here.

Thanks Marty,

It may have 4", I dunno, but will inspect it first hand and make a call. I've been diggin hard on the SOA vs. SUA set ups and will just have to see how it goes.

I'll do the SOA, but it's more involved than I first thought and will plan this out for a Winter mod..definately need to rotate the knuckles for that. I'd be interested.
