Hi All, trying to locate a carburetor for my fj40.

Looking for a 11/79 US Spec. Part number 21100-61101. Any leads would be appreciated. Pm me if you have one to sell or know of one. I want to replace the Weber the PO put on with an original.

Thanks Lance

Calling @65swb45

aka mr carburetor... mark.

He will get you set up.

you really don't want a 79-80 carb, they aren't very good, there are some internal oddities in the 79/80 model
the 81 + carb is much better
Mark built me a quasi carb out of an 81+ and my 80 carb, I think he used the upper of the 80 and the lower of the 81+
it runs very nice, smooth and plenty of power.

X2 for @65swb45

Agree with @3_puppies: there are better choices. OTOH I rebuilt and modified a stock 1980 carb for @SW20 and he is very pleased with it.

Happy to discuss by telephone.

After doing some more research, I think the part number I am looking for is a Federal 21100-61025

Virtually certain I have those. We’ll talk later.

Haven’t started on the carb yet, but I did dig this out:

As you can see, the decal is near perfect, and the cad plating on the hardware is exceptional for a 40 year old part. ;)

Owing to the likelihood that the core has been stored indoors on my shelf for the better part of 30 of its 40 years, I think the chances are pretty good that the ICS on it will be fine. ;)
