Do a quick search in the classifieds (pretty sure it's a vendor section perhaps?) and you should find some sweet machined metal ones. I bought one this week. I bought one a few months ago and just had to have another!

Much more substantial than the factory plastic badges (which are still available from Toyota).

I'm assuming you're talking about a 40, or is this for a 60/80?

Dan

I just got a PM from the guy producing the metal badges, so I will be sending payment tomorrow.

As for the application, I am doing diesel swaps in three landcruisers right now, 2 FJ40's are getting 13b-t's and an FJ55 is getting a 1HZ.

I didn't realize they were still availble through Toyota. I checked EPC and couldn't find any that were still available. Anyway, I believe the metal ones will be the direction I will go.

Thanks for your help and your comments.

Scott

Hope I'm not getting too much into chat territory here, but you'll be thrilled with the machined grill badges. I bought the first one thinking it was kind of cool, the second one was because they are simply better than the Toyota plastic bits.

Why haven't I seen threads on those trucks?

Dan

That's good to know the quality and workman ship was good. I would much rather put a nice metal badge on a Land cruiser, it just seems to fit better.

As for the threads, I always had intended to start a thread on the builds, but never seemed to have the time. I am on the tail end of one of the 40's which was for a guy 70 miles north of where I am at. At this point I just did the engine conversion, the restoration may come later. As for the other two, they are mine. The 40 is a frame off that has taken over 3 years due to unforeseen circumstances, and the 55 is just a basket case right now. Anyway, thanks again for the info.

I am the guy who does the Diesel grill badges. What prompted me to do them was because Toyota discontinued the orig. plastic ones last Sept and nobody could find them anymore. Mine are OEM replacements machined from 6061 T-6 marine grade billet aluminum, then black anodized. I've replaced the plastic tits that always break on the back with stainless steel studs. There used to be a huge build thread on this project but it has disapearred?

Really?!?! So you're saying that I should hang onto my OEM Toyota ones (I probably bought them last August, so I just assumed they were still available now) because they will soon be worth millions?

Your badges are amazing. I can't speak highly enough about them.

Dan

Thank you. I too was going to reoplace my faded ,crome peeling, with two broken tits on rear, plastic originals with new ones from Toyota but just had a hard time spending the $100.00 they wanted knowing they too would fail. So when guys stated a thread about them being discontinued last september i decided to remake them back to factory specs. I'm condsidering doing the rest of the emblems if i get enough interest. Probably do the Toyota Landcruiser emblem on sides under the hood first. Maybe aluminum or stainless. Anyone interested?

I have 2 nice front toyota badges and even the diesel badge - very nice condition - not cracked.

I bought the new Diesel badges from Diesel42, very nice product, but I might be interested in one of the Toyota badges. How much do you want for one? could you send an email with a picture?

Thanks
