Hey all

My daughter, Alex, is wanting a 4Runner, so I figured I'd start local. Anyone know of any available?

I talked with Larry, and he suggested 88-89, but I think Alex likes the design of the 90+ better. So, ideally a 90 - 95(?) or so for a reasonable price

She is also willing to test drive it at Pismo :)

Kinda looks like a runner, there is a white about 90ish, with a tight campershell on it just down the street from my shop, I will grab pic of it tomorrow.

the hard part will be trying to figure out how to get the picture on thread.

yeah, been checking Craigslist -- mostly v6 there. And Larry also recommended going 4 cyl.

Michael -- You can send me the pics to my phone (707-235-0247) or email --

Woody, IMHO just get a 93-95 and chuck the 3.0 for a 3.4 swap.. is Larry willing to consider that idea? :) FWIW (knock on wood here) ours has held up just fine after I pre-emptively had-to do the headgaskets. (Leaked into the valley but not the cylinders at the time.)

An idea for you..if you two want to try ours* for an idea how fun they can be let me know, I have the 5 speed swap done, but b/c of the school and baby expenses never got to the 3.4 swap part. I'm not sure we'll be able to make next week's meeting with me working 10-11 hour days, but we were in S.R. last w/e and can easily use an excuse to visit next Sat-Sun for a two day "Get out of Town" trip. I need to ask Larry to help us search pricing/etc on an AE-90 Corolla anyhow. I'll bring the Runner and would be happy to let you two go for a short drive in it to see if she is really wanting one.

PM or call me asap..you can get my # from the club member info.

*Note: We are not selling ours, unless someone really, and I mean REALLY wants it and is willing to pay me what it is worth.

Just save the headache and buy a 97 up runner or taco with the 3.4 already in there if you want a good v6. The swap will cost about the same if not more as just ponying up for the initial cost and no smog referee issues, those guys nailed me on a chev 4.3 swap in a 87 recently. Yoda does have the info on the 3.4 swap and if I recall there are computer and wiring issues in addition. Just my two cents.
