Thanks to @Dedtruk im going to look at a 40 a little West of Lancaster tomorrow. Anybody want to come with? Gary? (@shmukster) anyone? I still have much to learn about 40's and not having someone with me last time was a mistake.

Seller is expecting me at Noon.

Dang! Andy I think you live pretty close to this 40 too. It's about halfway between Lancaster and York. You know WAAAAY more about 40's than I do. I'll just swing by and grab you and the kids on the way there.

I saw that one on CL. Looks to be a good start. Likely needs a new rear tub and maybe a fender or two. Never seen it in person though.

Thanks and yes bezel flip will happen today. The 2F is STRONG. But carb needs some work and it has some vacuum leaks I think. Drivetrain is perfect. Rear tub is a train wreck. Side steps are shot. Fenders need major work. Lots of rust on frame but no scaling. Hope to get it out in the sun today and take lots of pics. Needs a muffler and lots of little things to do before it will ever pass inspection.

We'll see how far I get. I go from wanted to jump in with both feet to feeling quite intimidated by it. Mostly I think it would be fun to go slowly and do it right.

What do you guys think afte seeing all the pics on the other thread? Anybody have a lead on a tub?
