Long time lurker and going for a first post. Here’s my situation and what I’m looking to pull-off, 3 Kids have created the necessity to move on from my Tacoma...

Looking for a 1995-1997 Cruiser in the 150-160K range, bone stock preferred but not required, located in AZ. Mechanical soundness much more important that appearance.
Would rather stay away from all the gadgets and fanciness of the 100 series..

Currently have a 2002 Tacoma (original owner) which I would be interested in a trade if there’s an interest, otherwise I will buy the cruiser and then sell the Taco.
Specs: 3.4 V6, 2WD, locking rear, 4door, prerunner/TRD package, Leer fiberglass camper, receiver hitch, etc.. 130K miles.

Any leads on an LC or desires to trade would be most appreciated!

Thanks

I would consider a 100 series. I would not consider to have a lot of gizmos or gadgets. It had a tape player in it, haha. I would ride in one on road and off before discounting it. Also, slightly newer and probably more available in the mileage and condition you are looking for. Fwiw.

Well I guess I'll keep an open mind and entertain 100 series as well. I just dont need bluetooth, navigation etc...

You wont get bluetooth, navigation or A-Trac with a 98-99 100 series;)

Just V8 power and colder AC. Prices are under 10K for 98-99 in many cases.

My 2000 doesn't have bluetooth or navigation but does have A trac plus stability control which I find a plus for what I use my 100 series. To me for snow and ice driving those are worth more than a rear locker. Some 2001 didn't have navagation but would have the latch system if you still have kids in car seats. Unless I'm wrong some of the 98/99 did not come with three row seats. Besides having fewer seats they also didn't have rear air which is a big plus in AZ. Those didn't have the power rear vent windows. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

All good feedback. Guess the search has officially opened up to the earlier 100 series.
Did find one 97 but the owner is trying to get an astronomical price which I just cant rationalize unfortunately..

Location? Pictures?

I'd like to see pictures of your Tacoma. Where are you located?

bluecruiser thanks for turning me on to the 100 series, after pouring through a ton of threads its seems like the way to go for me... Pickins are slim herein the valley but I did find a couple in Socal I may bite on assuming the Tacoma sells on fleabay.

Glad to hear it. I have had mine for about 5 years. Its a 1999. Newer is better though, I have heard. Great vehicle that has taken me to quite a few awesome places.

Saw on the classifieds you sold the Tacoma, Joe. I liked that truck a lot! Did you end up with a Cruiser?

Nice!

And here we go, drove it in from Carlsbad CA last night, pulled the running boards this am..
