From a car show/creativity standpoint, Its pretty impressive. Real world?....

He should come to one of our meets and hang with the real people of the CSC...Afterall, I took a shower last week. :hillbilly:

His designs look like they cause projectile vomit for some, I somewhat agree, way more bling than I prefer. From the short look I had, they are pretty well thought out, have a ton of time/effort/custom fab work involved, very unique. Haven't seen them on the trail, so who knows if they actuality work?

from alan-you guys are brutal FYI all the trucks are wheeled except these buses.
It has a 08 Duramax hence the IFS.
They seat 14 to 18 people so it only needs to compare only to a bus so you choose school bus or this. Bus 40 is Not my cup of tea but they get there. The bus beat my wifes Porsche Cayenne S V8 no _ _ _ _ 0-60
The open top 100 you were mocking has done pritchett on 37's and 40's and a few other unamed bad boy trails and can drive home too.
I build I wheel I build some more I wheel and I have fun.
I learned a long time ago Its not WHAT you wheel it WHO you wheel with and have been spending my money on smarter things lately than crazy trucks.
Also each truck was built for a specfic purpose in my life which made me money and I had fun with at the time like towing 36,000 lbs over to telluride and silverton in the 6x6 or my wife wanted a convertible jeep which I refused so she got the open top lexus, or the 4 runner which was just pefect for carrying our dogs in back it even had a electric remote lowering tire carrier and a dog ladder up the back of the tire into the ute bed.
(BTW the bus should be black or dark charcoal black wheels tinted out on a 10" lift w 40's on rockwells like my others but customer wouldnt listen)
Make sure you understand before you mock. The sophistication of most of these trucks exists because I could not purchase from an OEM a truck to do the job so I made the truck do it myslef. Isnt that why we are all here??
Im here enjoying Costa Rica where its 81 degreees ( instead of 10 in denver) and full of every toyota diesel ever made so sorry about your luck- im livin it!!

do you mean jo shotts isnt that the guy whos daugter and sun in law died rolling their land cruiser on the highway?

so combine chevolet with toyota and get , chevota , yotalea or toylet take your pick?:hillbilly:

workmanship looks familiar

like the hood an bezel. the part that looks wrong is the 42square feet or flat sheet metal behind the bezel:hhmm:

i dotn understand which ugly part you are talking about I dotn think they look good people just want them so what is the 42 square feet you mention?

the flat metal behind the bezel . theres two much of it . the way you built it is fuctional but the surface around the bezel takes away from it some how .. what about rolling a bead from a metal forming roller? or ? just saying the surface area of metal catches my eye , draws atten to it ! takes away from the rest of the hard work you did.

man i have so many ideas of grill work no one will ever pay for? its tough. there are way worse things than that this whole truck is wrong need a lif and 37's for starters larger tire to pull of larger truck color is horid on both of them- white "really" oh well next time

Wow just found this thread while looking for a old friend! Unless you have rode in one of Alan's creations don't mock his stuff! I had the pleasure of knowing Alan when he got his first 80 and did the ls-1 conversion before most people were thinking about it. With his brain we got 35's on my 98 Tacoma before people were doing that also. Give it time and his Lexus open top design will be all over the place. You might have one in your garage

Why revived the thread if you think they are bad?

I didn't comment on his design before but the Lexus open top design will never be in my garage :meh:
