Look what I did with my day off....

Taped all 140 or so holes and put on bedliner today. I used Plasti-Kote from Walmart. It seems like it went on OK - I'll see how well it holds up long term. I still have some touch up to do on the edges as it peeled a little in a few places when I removed the masking. Even the wife approves!!

What do most of you do with the rear side lights? I can bolt them back on, but they seem to stick out farther than I would like - even with the gaskets under them removed.

Of course, I could remedy that when I build the rear bumper.......

When are you coming over to do mine?

Is that going to be the TCCC ride this year? The only concern I have with the plasticote is that it seems to be stiffer than other products, so it might chip and flake easier than a more rubberized product. All that means is you may have to do some more touch up later on. But it does look good now... I need to pull my flares and do the same to mine.

On your rear bumper, I highly recommend looking into the weld-it-yourself kit offered by 4x4 labs. You've seen my bumper- it's awesome. I had to wait a really, really, really long time for mine- but if you're getting the do it yourself kit I think you'd get your parts a lot sooner than I got my bumper.

Yes, it is stock springs, for now..........I have a OME 850/864 combo sitting in the house waiting for warmer weather. Those are 285/75 Peerless Baja Widetrack AT. Made by Bridgestone - got 5 for under $600.

I hope to have both at TCCC this year. Family wheeling with this, and then I can beat the 40 with little fear of damage. My goal is to have it SOA and on 34's by then.....

I really like the kit from them, but it all comes down to $$$. Not that they are unreasonable, but I just got a quote for a 5' by 10' sheet of 1/4" for under $200. I can build both front and rear bumpers along with some other stuff for that. I just need some tube for sliders and I should be set.

I don't remember seeing any Dupli-Color there, but I did see it at one of the auto parts stores, so I think that it is a different product. I think Valspar makes the Plasti-Kote.

Lining yours will be a lot easier than mine. You won't have nearly as many holes to cover. I counted over 140 total.

Honestly- I'm on the fence about ditching the flares completely. Sometimes they are nice to have as they do push smaller saplings out away from the body. I'd much rather have scratches on the flares than on body panels.

I hear ya - if the LX450 only had as much plastic as the LC, I may never have done it. IMO the LX has entirely too much plastic though. I'm not too worried about scratches, I can touch that up pretty easily if they get through the liner at all. I will be finding out more soon. My hope is to have the lift on and bumpers built before Howiepalooza and I'll find out more then.

What kinda tape ?
Did you tape both side of the holes ?
