Congratulations on the truck.

Looks alot like mine before she evolved.

Any plans for mods?

Mod #1 - dump the 3.slow and put in a 22RE

We've been thinking the same thing! Our 3.slow sucks the gas down (but it has been really reliable). Dale probably gets better MPG with the big shoes and gears.

Just out of curiosity, how much did you get it for? They've really fallen in value recently.

i have no plans yet still debating on taging it and driveing it or making it an off roader and selling my 85 4 runner or selling this and making my 85 a off roader i bought it for $1050 but it doesw have some rust issues but only 110000 miles on it. other ones are going on ebay for $2500-$4500

fjman is right about the mpg, I get 20 highway and 18 around town.:) I have 186,000+ mile on her and she is still going strong.

The 22RE is one heck of a good engine.

My son found a cheap 4Runner on ebay. This is what he did to it.

This is what I drove to high school (class of '73), rain or shine without a top. Lots of fun. My father restored it and added the goodies to make it look like the jeeps he remembered seeing in Italy during WWII. In the Glen Echo folder, photo 68, the old timer with the walker was brought to tears when he saw it. Powerful memories.
Enjoy,
Ed

That is a powerful picture.

A co-worker of mine was telling me that he went down to Alexandria to look at a the restored ship his father was on during WWII. He ran into an old timer who knew his father. Reduced the old guy to tears to talk about my co-worker's father. What are the odds they would be there on the same day?
