Hello All, I wanted to finally post to introduce myself even though I've been reading the forum(s) for quite a while.

About two weeks ago I purchased a 2003 100 series which is my third Landcruiser. I previously owned a 120 series Prado when I lived in Saudi Arabia and an 80 series LC when I lived in Azerbaijan.

I switched to a Land Rover 110 when I lived in Dubai, but now that I am in Houston I've purchased the 100 series Toyota. My plan is to do the 2.5 inch lift, sliders, front and rear bumpers, and other mods to make this a great explore and camp machine. I'm looking forward to hunting through the forum and getting ideas for a great build.

Here are some photos of my previous rigs and my new 100 series.

My 100 Series... sorry about the quality, my Iphone took the photos strangely due to HDR

Nice! Congrats. and Welcome.

Congrats on the latest purchase!

Thanks :)

Also, I found a better photo of my 80 Series:

Sweet! I don't think my wife would let me park my 80 on the porch though!

Thanks, yeah the D110 was great. It broke my hear to have to sell it. But, you can't import them to the US unless they are 25 years old so I had to sell her.

It's amazing how attached you get to a vehicle when you "build" it. I've got a feeling I'll be the same way with my 100 series.

Very true. And you will. :)

Great looking rig, looking forward to seeing the build. Welcome!

Nice STi too, by the way.

red mountain rovers here in Birmingham imports them. They have some cool trucks down there.

Cool, they must be using the disassemble, ship body, frame, and mechanical in three separate containers method, and then get a grey title when it arrives method to import. That would also explain the almost $70K price tag for that 2002 they have. Mine was only ~$41K new in Dubai.

As crazy as it sounds, I would have considered that strategy for mine if I had known about it at the time.

God I wish the D110 was a Toyota product.

The new ones seem to be a lot more dependable. The only problems I ever had with mine in a year of hard use was the warn winch and the ARB air lockers.

I really like the new turbo diesel they have, in the desert it was great having to use only 1 jerry can to every 6 my buddies with gasoline engines were having to use. Also, when chipped and tuned the power from the engines was quite respectable (I didn't chip or tune mine though).

Nice rides. Welcome and look forward to your build.

I love the D110. I'd love a D110 but a D90 is what we have :) I love it except I drive on the wrong side

The 90 is great fun too. I just can't sell it to the wife since it doesn't hold the kids, the pets, and our camping gear.

Maybe when the kids go to off to school I can get one....

Welcome, where about in Houston are you?

I just picked up a 100 that will be getting a lift ect soon.

Let me know if you want to go play, I've got a few local places we could wheel.
