Looking for an opinion. Is it worth getting a handheld diagnostic computer and codes guide for this truck? I had a check engine light come on for a few miles yesterday, then go out again (hasn't come back on since) I googled and got some lists of top 10 things CEL could mean...thinking of just buying spares for all those things and hitting the road. thoughts?

I bought a 20.00 obdll code reader and code eraser from pep boys, for just these type of ck engine lights.

Also where did ya get the seat covers? Price?

ok cool.

Covercraft SeatSaver Seat Covers

around $70. They are good quality, though not as perfectly contoured as the ones from Specter Off Road that I had for my fj60. But those are $300. new.

Do you recommend a particular codes guide? I have seen one online from Chilton.

For $10, I may have to pull the trigger on one of those myself. I have a CEL on right now and it would be nice to get some real time info on some of the other things, like actual temps and oil pressure.

@Bomar you been happy with it so far?

Left this morning for nm. Camped out now near wichita falls tx. Truck tan like a dream all day, cruising along happily at 75. Should be in Grants by tomorrow evening..

Been blending 93 with mid grade. Working my way down to regular. No issues so far.

You are right by me. Where did you camp? Did you avoid the rain?
