This was an Incredible drive. The altitude take you into the blue spruce and aspens above the ponderosa. I have seen huge elk up here in the past. I wish I had more time to explore. So many tantalizing trails running all over this mountain. The peaks here are all edges of a 3000 year old Caldera. Looking down you see massive lava thrusts in the center, frozen for centuries.
There were still patches of unmelted snow in the shadier spots...in June.

Went to El malpais natl monument today. The Rangers gave warnings about the dn gers of caving and driving the chain of craters road. Had a blast. Please someone ask me to lead an offroad cruiser camping expedition to this area.

I did a trail above in sedona az today which is a standard route for local jeep tours. Mostly bowling ball size rocks and slabs with nice drop offs. Steep and rough enough that I preferred LR most of the way. Some person from California tried to make it in a gmc ??. I saw the results. The owners must have called in an airlift. I only saw the disabled car.

Is it ok to bump start this v6? I wouldn't normally start this way, but If the ignition were ever to fail, battery die etc.....might need to. I have heard it isn't good to bump start EFI. just wondering.

Bump it. It will start fine.

Keep the pics coming!

Are you sure it's the brakes? If your low on fluid, just keep an eye on it and you will probably be ok. If your not low then the more likely culprit is the rear axle seals. There is a driven in seal similar to the front of a 40/60/80 And there is also an o-ring that goes between the end of the housing and the bearing retainer housing on the shaft itself. If it is one of those then unless it is just gushing you should be fine til you get home. Plus to replace those requires pulling an axle shaft.

My guess is it's a seal. One of mine is leaking ever so slightly and I have reached out to my favorite Turk to get replacement parts.

th

It was the wheel cylinders. They did the axle seals and brake shoes for me too. Now its all tight. Brake fluid was dropping at res. and spraying the tire at rim and all over the wheel well.
