just wondering if someone has a measurement for the inner spline length on a 70 series front long axle shaft?? found a shaft for sale and not sure if it will work. FIY Im trying to fit the front long shaft in my fj40 so I can run an elocker.

Honestly, there is some cool factor in using an E-locker, but you'd be better off installing an ARB. They are faster to engage and disengage, and they are very reliable and do not require modifying your housings or finding less common parts.

Just my $0.05 worth.

Sounds like the seal holder has not been centered properly or the seal itself has not been installed properly during setup.
My ARBs (front and rear) are installed for about 8 years now and ran for about 150000-170000 k's but no problem at all.
I even have some spare tubing and connectors which I carry along on a trip but never had to use that stuff.

I WILL be using an elocker and not ARB for a couple reasons.
1. the application and setup i am going to use will be a cable locker
2. dont have the time or space for an air compressor and tank.

So does anyone have the correct measurement?

That is caused by a few things, such as seal that needs to be replaced or things like blocked axle vent tubes. The ARB design has been updated a number of times over the years. You can't really make comparisons between old and new, as there are numerous engineering upgrades.

I don't have any axle shafts out to measure, but there should be some info on this if you do a search or post in one of the other forums. I would also expect LongField to have the measurements for his custom axles.

true true
but if its going to do those things i mentioned when its only a year old its not very reliable product to me, even arb bullbars are weak as 10 weak things i think their name is bigger and better than some of their actual gear/products are
