Ok I understand the lockers and what they do and why our 100 series benefit from front lockers; is it beneficial do add after market rear lockers? When adding the rear locker is the benefit only strength

If you don't have the OEM E-locker in the rear, then It would be beneficial to add an aftermarket rear locker. Adding a locker provides traction to both wheels when locked, and added strength over the OEM open carrier.

If you already have a rear locker, I don't see any reason to replace it unless it was broken/not working.

As for the front, it would depend on what you are using your LC for. Most of us don't get in situations where 4-low and a rear locker cant get us out. A front locker is a little extreme on our vehicles IMO. expensive too.

Trick is to install front ARB locker before you explode the diff. I've never hear of anyone breaking a rear dif. I would rather wheel a totally stock 100 with a front locker that one entirely built minus the locker. (I wheel in CO and UT ie. desert) If the question is do I need a rear locker? Only you can answer that. If you've never got stuck, you probably don't need a rear locker. Downside to factory rear locker is it takes forever to engage/disengage. ARB is almost instant.

The only piece of advice I would like to add is do the front locker if you have a 98 or a 99. Theres too many horror stories of busted front diffs on here from even mild circumstances. Its like sliders, do them now to avoid having to pay the repair costs later.
