So I'm going to tackle the Remove/Replace of my funked rear actuator and have a question that I didn't seem to find...could be I'm a dumbass and didn't search good enough...hard to tell...

I'll do a FAQ/writeup thingy to help others as well.

When removing:

I'm assuming it's the 4 bolts on the main body of the actuator
Then the indicator switch
Then do I need to take off the cover for the indicator? I'm assuming this is how you get to disconnect the output arm from the shift fork... correct?

Will I need to worry about where that shift fork is at? I'm assuming it can't really "fall" anywhere it shouldn't. The FSM shows the the R/R on the 3rd member out of the vehicle.

thanks

hey ben

but if my memory serves me correctly you need to remove the cover and then the screw that is holding the shift fork in place so the actuator can slide out, then remove the 4 bolts holding the actuator in place and the whole thing should slide out, just keep an eye on the shift fork! make sure it goes back together as it came out!

but it your not removing the axleshaft, then it shouldnt matter whether its locked or not, so, no the shift fork position shouldnt matter! the only way the collar falls off into the abyss and cause great pain and suffering is if you pull the axle shaft while its unlocked

oh, and make sure to locktite that screw when you install it back onto the fork! :D
