Throwing P0418 secondary air injection system A relay. Best I can tell is that this code is usually the pump and not one of the valves. But I can't find a good diagram or picture of its location on my 09 lx570...

Don't think you will like the answer.
Pretty sure it is these 2 canisters. (I stand corrected. These are the valves, not the pumps)

I believe those are just the valves and the pumps themselves are in the front passenger side behind the bumper.

Or at least that's where I hear the very distinct electric-motor-powered-pump-like whirring sound coming from when I cold start my truck.. And where those plastic hoses lead to.

Yes, those are the valves thank goodness.
I believe that they throw a different code..

Pull the right side (US Passenger side) front fender liner.

Is it common for the SAI pump to go out for the LX570/LC200 models? I know for my late GX470 we had issues with it failing and the labor is quite extensive to replace. The bandaid solution was to run a bypass module + Block off plates.

Do 200 series owners do this too?>

from what I can gather it can happen, but not as common as on the 4.7

I too am wary of this as a fellow bay area resident

Sounds like it wasn’t your pumps but your valves instead. I just replaced one pump on my ‘13 with about 90k miles. The pumps are easy, the valves are more involved to replace.

Pumps are ahead of the passenger front tire covered by the fenderwell liner.

I know this is an old picture, but for those tackling this now: If you have the intake off to access the valves, you may as reseal the coolant valley plate while you are in there (since most of that job is labor and you're 90% there).

Where do they pull air from?

I believe they draw air from high up inside the fender which would make sense as that's where the engine intake also draws air. If you follow the pipe from each pump, they merge into what looks like an upright horn shaped intake.
