I'm up for a run, got two weeks off in December :) Only thing is that I might not have might sliders by that time, how friendly will the run be with no sliders?

SectionEht (fjforums) is out - no lift or sliders- his plan is now saddleback range.

Biff, If the group selects holcomb or john bull sliders are a must. else you would be ok. Slomo, I hope, Will take the lead on run selection.

Well let me know what you guys select.

im interested in either day

Sorry Stan, I just got back from a little Borrego wheeling with my Pop. I am certainly not the most knowledgeable about the snow wheeling up there but I would be happy to investigate. Any Big Bear snow wheeling veterans post up with reccomendations.

Mark I would love to see your rig in action.

Count me in as a maybe, especially if it is Thursday. I am sure I will need a break from the restaurant by then. Anyone want to camp the night before. I know it will be cold, but I would still love to do it. Maybe head up there EARLY afternoon on Wed.? Just a thought. I have a great campsite in mind that can accomodate 4-5 rigs and would have awesome views!!

BTW...I will go on any trail you can throw at me.....trust me on this one.

Too cold for me, metal parts start to creak. The 80 starts to make some noise too. :D

Gets some heavies and look how big he talks. :flipoff2: I do hope you can make it Smit, and let me know when you are ready to hit the Hammers.

Is there a final? any swing of dates from wed. to thurs? I'm trying to make it haven't been out since SnT.

According to 10 day forcast, it is supposed to snow next weekend too :) . Anyone know how much snow it will take to close the trails? Do we have any conections with anyone who could get us onto any trails closed? I think that the road we went on in August (the adopt a trail road) should be fun in snow. I don't know anything about the other trails up there though.

I can't wait. I need this getaway. Still up for camping (sleeping in my rig;) ) if anyone else is up for it.

the trails dont close when it snows they leave them open year round

Regarding 3N08 (our adopted trail), during our introduction run, Glen Hoffman from the SBNF said snow wheeling, even on that simple trail did require chains to get up the last steep section when he'd run it in the past with snow.

Just an FYI from a jealous fellow wheeler that will be stuck at the office. :flipoff2:

I have one set of chains!!

I have 1 set (2 tires) for 285's if anyone wants to borrow them. Wish I could make the 20th. I could problably make the 21st.

cheers,
David...

Chains for 285's will run you about $120. They aren't cheap and not stocked locally! I ordered mine from JCWhitney's catalog when I purchased my Revo's.

Do they fit the 285's?

They did last year :flipoff2: !

21st works better for me too. That way I can maybe camp out on Wed. night if anyone is man enough to join me;) .
