any body know where to get chains for 37's ? I found some for hummers but I can't justify the $640 :O

Just do an internet search and tirechains.com and the others have "standard" sets (1 pr) for around $100 shipped and the reinforced v-bar ones for ~$150 a pair shipped. I've found there's quite a bit of variation in the sizing such that a lot of the 35" sets are the same part # as those for the 36" and 37" tire sizes.
Also, just an FYI for those that have never used chains off road on some more of the challenging trails - one pair don't always cut it, even with lockers and good tires. But that's just my opinion....

Thanks for the link Mike, those welded bar ones are the way to go...I used to have a set for a dually. These are going to be a sure way to finish off my fender flares

I haven't wheeled the BFG at's in the snow only the muds. Do they do ok or will I be spinning alot even with chains?
slomo you would be fine with chains. BFG AT's are very good in the snow as long as there isn't too much sticky mud. And if theres mud just put on the chains and you'll be as good as any "Mud" tire

Seems like we're still drifting between the 20th and 21st.....any change in dates?? hoping so.

But you might want to consider the way Goodyear MT/R's are in snow. Maybe your experience is different but BFG AT's are much, much better in snow than them. And as for chains in general, you live in CA where in the winter nearly every mountain road indicates that you should be carrying a set (even if 4WD). Most folks with 4WD just lie if asked and go on without any issues. But it's a small amount to be safe (less than $100 for one set, used ones after ski season can be had for nearly half price). Wheel enough in the snow and ice and you'll understand that tires and lockers don't do squat under a lot of situations. See how your MT/R's do as you attempt to brake on an icy downhill with a 90-deg turn midway down, bordered by trees on one side and a cliff on the other....
