So, I tried to be a nice guy and loan my truck out to my brother in law. I mean, he's family right? Well, I got home from a trip to find all the belts broken. Sweet. He said that they broke and he immediately shut off the truck and had it towed to my house. I fixed the belts yesterday and started up the truck. It started and ran fine for about 2 miles until the engine heated up. It started knocking really bad when i stepped on the gas and i checked the temp gauge. It was almost pegged. I pulled back into my house and looked under the hood and saw that a hose from the radiator to the engine had popped off and was smoking. I opened the oil filler cap and there was a little smoke coming from there too. I let it cool off and fixed the hose problem and started my rig. It started fine and didnt knock at all...until it heated up again. Then the gauge slowly rose to the danger level and it started to knock again. The strange thing was that the radiator fluid was cold. I'm kinda new to the whole fix it myself thing but i bought the truck to learn. Hopefully someone here can help. Life isn't the same without her. Thanks in advance.
