Swapping the R and P maybe easy or hard or may not work at all. I have 8 inch toyota front ends and rear 9.5's that the R and P's will not swap back and forth - found out the hard way, that's why I say to take the easy route. I don't mean swapping from the 8 to 9.5 - I mean from 9.5 to 9.5 and 8 to 8. And the nasty part is you don't really know until you try setting them up - hours of bull****.

On that note - anyone want to buy a 100 series front R and P??

best to get someone that KNOWS how to set up the R&P if you want it to last... there is a knack to it.

Which ones do not work with what ?
The front 39/8 hp works a treat on a 80 series elocker.
The rear absolutely does not work on a 90 series prado elocker.

The 100 series 4.30's front don't work in the HZJ79 front, the 80 series rear and 100 series rear r and P do not swap into the HZJ79 rear - but the whole 100 series rear will fit in. That's the problem though - not sure until you try.

Like Wayne says - have a pro set the Diff up - that's what I do.
