Hi all...Just thought it would be nice to know folks on the forum with similar rides.Mine is an LJ79 with a 3L engine.I believe it was sold mostly in Japan and south Africa .Also imported into Australia and Canada cause i have seen pics.

Hope to see more such vehicles and get to know more owners of these rides.

NO OFFENCE MEANT TO OTHER 70 SERIES OWNERS.:)

Cheers

Cheers - I have a 1990 lj78 - it's having a heart transplant at the moment - with larger radiator, water pump, 3L head, and perhaps some heat louvers or a hood (bonnet) scoop. I am in Canada. I just ordered a Max Ellery Land Cruiser manual from Germany - but only up to 1990 - which includes LJs. I will share info here once I get it. Shipping to Canada is apparently by slow mule via Siberia...

I don't think the 77 series came with the L series engine.

i think they came in PZ, HZ, and KZ engines.

whatever.

I have a PZ 77.

Hey there Peter, you said you had a manual comming for your lj78. let us know if it is any good. I 'm trying to find a shop manual for mine as well!

1992 LJ78
- original head still going strong.

I thought the 2LTE and 3L heads were the same? Is this a tougher head? What kind of radiator conversion and water pump conversions. I just got my LJ 78 and it still has a good head. would like to keep it that way!!!!

The 3L head is tougher, from what I hear. I got a bigger rad and had the input placed kitty-corner from the bottom output, to use more of the rad. - a longer rad hose on top to accommodate it. A local rad company built it. The Water pump came thanks to 4WheelAuto - 4 Wheel Auto Wholesale -LANDCRUISER PARTS - with the head and assorted gaskets and such. I wanted to improve coolant circulation to prevent overheating.

By the way - the Ellery Landcruiser manual I got does NOT cover the Prado 2LTE. It does cover the '85 BJ70 I have for sale. I think an English prado manual of the years 88-92 does not exist.

Hello all
I am joining the Canadian LJ78 crowd. I have had mine for 9 months, 30K, and no problems. I like my truck.
And I am looking for a manual that covers the 2LT-E motor. If i find one i will post where it comes from.

Hi, I'm new in the forum. I live in Argentina and I've just bought a Land Cruiser II 1993, LJ79, 270k.
Do you know where to get the manuals for this Cruiser? (owners and technicals), thanks

Hi guys , I to own LJ78. just want to say hi wayne and just want to say i do rememer that you loved this ride a while back . I know you speak from experiance , but you did like this ride for some time, Was it just the head issure that turned you off or is there more?

Hi, I know my question is a basic one, but I hope to get an answer to keep on searching the manuals I need.
Is the LJ79 Landcruiser II a Bundera?, a LC80?, a Lc90?, or has nothing to do with them? (I need to identify my Cruiser to be able to get the manuals...)
If anyone can help..thanks a lot
