little black box behind headlight

little black box right aft of the right headlight. It's mounted on the right fender well
and has four wires connected to it. What is it? Can't seem to place it on the diagram.

Possibly a headlight relay. Never seen black one though, might be a PO suitable substitute.??

Sounds like the semi-electronic igniter module. Replaces the condenser on the distributor and is supposed to prolong the life of the points IIRC.

Well, that black box is there just in case you get into a wrech, the D.O.T. will get that box down load it and find out what went wrong. Its the same feature found on aircraft today.
could you post a pic just in case someone has relocated something
