I recently bought a Noco GB150 4000 AMP Battery Jump starter. Originally I was planning on leaving it in trunk compartment but it doesn't fit. Is there a way to mount it so I can use it as a secondary battery when car is off? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

I have the same unit and it is truly amazing.

I charged it about 5 months ago...and haven’t charged it since. Took it to Baja...ran lights on it...charged phone at night...ran shower pump with it. Jumped a vehicle... Then took it camping last weekend and ran camp lights all night.

Batterystill at 75%!

If I understand your question...you are talking about using it as a second battery? Permanently connected?

If so, it is definitely not designed for that. It’s designed for starting...and then disconnecting.

Beyond that, though, it is incredibly robust and powerful. I even used it to charge my 15” Mac Pro by plugging an inverter to it and charging via my 85Watt AC wall outlet charger. The thing is just super-oowered.

Where I store mine:
I ordered a case for it from Amazon that is literally perfection...and it fits under the front passenger seat...so long as it is in a raised position.

Here is a link to the Amazon case...inexpensive, but fantastic quality:

Yeah, Im pretty impressed. I jumped two completely dead monster V12 and 7.3L TD motors with it just now and it fired up immediately. It did eat 25% of the battery though.

I don't think I have my front seat raised. Will it still fit? I usually have my seat as far back as possible.

I want to somehow power my wifi hotspot with this. But I believe it times out after 8 hours of being on.

Where did you guys buy your Noco jump starters from? I bought my GB40 and GB70 from Amazon just a couple of months ago and now would like to buy a GB150 but Amazon doesn't carry Noco anymore. Even the product pages have been deleted. Weird.

NOCO - 4000A Lithium Jump Starter - GB150 NOCO is offering 15% off, but it's still cheaper at Amazon ^^^^

I hang mine in it's bag in the cargo area from the back of the second row seat headrest. It works, but I am still looking for a better location.

I was sure the heat from the engine would damage the battery and was worried for years that if the truck interior got too hot, it would eventually degrade the battery. Here's the data sheet. I am very impressed with the storage temp specs. This is a heck of a piece of well-designed equipment.

Yup I saw that but I prefer buying from Amazon directly or fulfillment by Amazon so I can take advantage of Prime shipping and the great customer support. I wonder why they deleted the product pages. When I click on the links in my order history it sends me to a page that says "sorry we couldn't find that page" with a photo of a dog

This one's "Fulfilled by Amazon" so should do the trick: https://www.amazon.com/Genius-Boost...rd_wg=GhIUY&psc=1&refRID=SNXZ44NJEYRN90NPWPYX

I got mine on ebay for $185. I had to wait a week to find the deal. Noco is out of stock on this model. They make some other cool parts, solar panels and chargers I am looking into integrating with my Bruiser.

I strongly recommend NOT permanently mounting any lithium battery pack. If you do, use a quick release system (similar to a fire extinguisher bracket). Most lithium batteries get dangerous if stored over 120 deg F. This unit seems safe at that temp, according to the manufacturer’s literature, but they also rate it at 4000 amps peak which is a useless piece of info, so who knows if their temp rating is valid? I doubt it....

If your unit catches fire, you need to be able to eject it ASAP. No bolts!

I use the Viking unit from Harbor Freight. It is a different chemistry entirely and does not have the fire risk of typical lithium cells. I am really leery of storing lithium powered objects anywhere but in a garage or shed, due to the fire risk.

I can buy four of the Viking packs for the price of your unit, and I bet they work nearly as well... the one I have cranked my 5.7 motor over with no issues when my truck battery failed.

Does anyone know the ACTUAL amp/ volt rating of a real start, for the Noco, not the peak? If it is over 400 I would be astonished.

I’m sure you really can buy 4 harbor freight units for this price.

On the other hand...you could buy 4 Corollas for every Land Cruiser. ;)

Maybe the Harbor Freight Unit is great. I just don’t like to rely on critical stuff bought on the cheap, ya know?

If I require a battery booster, it’s because I’m in the boonies with no one near me for a jump start. Depending on location and conditions, the ability to drive home could be extremely important...maybe even priceless.

But anyway...
Read my post earlier about this Noco Unit. It’s got the goods...even after sitting for months on end.
