Does anyone have a tan or white 60 with bed liner on the outside? If so can you post pics.

I'm dropping mine off Sunday for LineX on the exterior. I haven't decided if I should leave the wood paneling (its peeling off on the drivers side) or spray over it. Nor have I decided where to stop the liner on the exterior. I was really looking forward to having this done. But now I'm afraid I'll f''' it up if I don't choose the right lines to follow. Whad do Ya'll thank?

Is LineX somewhat flexible? My dad did his FJ40 in Zolatone red bed liner, in and out... Looks pretty cool up close, kind of resembles primer red at a distance. The stuff resists back country pinstripes great, but he smacked something with the rear end of his 40 once and it kind of cracked around the dent....

I've seen Dodges with this done and I was unsure. Pics anyone?

OMFG! That answers that. Now... do i have to spend the extra 200 bucks to get all the wood paneling (vinyl) off, or can it simply be sanded to remove the loose material and then be sprayed on top of
?

Mr. FJ60,
Were you able to leave the door handles installed and mask around or did you take them out?

That looks good, but when I get mine done, I'm going to have the guys follow the lower contour line. I want the protection, but I don't want my truck to have the two tone look.

The lineX on your truck almost looks like the same color as my 60, its that dark greyish color. What color lineX is it? Also, is it really expensive to have done? They wanted $850 to do my interior floors black. Think I'll just get a DIY for the inside.

I just finished Durabaking my entire 60 on the outside. I did it White (which was the original color). That stuff is amazing. The prep time is extensive. Tape everything, I mean everything you don't want painted, because once its on, it is on for good. Instead of using a roller, I sprayed it with an undercoat gun at around 50 psi. Night and day difference between rolling it on. My dad did his 40 about 3 years back and used a roller. By spraying it on, it goes on much more even. I have to admit, it turned out much better than I had thought. I am also spraying on a Acyrilic Eurethane to give it a more glossy look. I didn't want to spend the money to have someone line x or paint it. this was a good alternative for me. All in all with the eurathane paint I am into it about 400. I will take some pics when I get home, it is still all taped up because I still have yet to add the paint.

It's actually supposed to be black but in the sund it does end up looking a little lighter black. I had it done at my local Line X dealer here in town, the charged me $700 for the whole job.

Here are some pics of my project. Sprayed another Acrylic Eurethane on it tonight. Made it look much better.

The two coats of urethane paint seemed to help the rough texture and hopefully the dirt will not be so hard to get out. My dad did the same process - durabak and couple coats of urethane and just uses soap and a brush with no problem. Gonna be fun getting it dirty

I dropped off my 60 today at 4. I stayed to watch the process. We taped the lines and decided to do the front portion of the hood and the bottom part where the light washers are. It was going real well until I saw him get the sander out.
It hurt my heart to see the wood paneling come off. It was brutal.

I'm going back at 7a tomorrow to watch it spray. He took some before pics for me. I'll post before and after pics as soon as I get them.

Did I mention this is not costing me anything. I love bardering!

I went to help finish the prep work this morning. I got there at 7a. And it was done. It looks like an F#@%'n OREO cookie. Not bad I thought. I went to work and then went back to look at it again on my lunch break. I noticed a lot of bubbling around the left rear fender. He said that was where he didn't get it sanded real well and that he would cut the bad spot out and re-spray it. But it would be a few more days till he could do it. He wants to let the stuff cure before it tears into with an air chisel. Always something.

And the da#n air rail is more broken than before I tried to fix it. Not a good week for the Cruiser.

Did I just ruin a great factory paint job other than the peeling wood?
Will anyone ever buy the thing if I want to sell it?
What's my damage friends?
