I know this may sound off the wall but, I have a 97 40th with the tan interior. My headliner is showing some wear and was wondering if Line-X would stick to the fabric. The other issue would be, if it would stick and stay, is the thickness to allow it to be reinstalled. I'm going to be going the route of 4dmalamute and have the flares and lower portions of the doors coated. I'll run my idea by the Line-X guys when I go to get a quote.

even if it would stick, (no idead if it would) I do not think the headliner would hold up to the weight, the thing is quite fragile,

try cleaning it

Agree, even if you got it to stick the weight would most likely pull the layers of the headliner apart and/or pull the plastic tabs out of the roof structure.

I'm in the first stages of an entire lined interior for the 80. Currently, the whole flooring is completed with three coats of Herculiner.

I hope to pull the headliner and put three or so coats above all the way around the rig to make it ultimately functional and washable with a power washer.

Beno,

Can you carry on a conversation with the carpet and insulation gone? If you could post a pic I would be interested.

Beno,
Post some pics, I gotta see this.
My headliner is on its last days so seriously considering ideas like this.
Flares already gone and line-x's.

Umm... I have a LineX roof on the outside. I never thought about putting it on the inside roof... I have thought about tearing out the interior though... Hmm...

Try some fabric dye. You can buy it in spray bombs at upholstery supply stores and sometimes other places. It's like spray paint for fabric. It covers many sins, like the time I reached for the dome light with a cigarette in my hand. Once it's dyed you can touch up future bonehead moves without removal.
While the headliner is out is a good time to get rid of the roof rack and lube the sunroof tracks.
