lights flickering (1 Viewer)

The lights on my '78 FJ40 is flickering during idle. When give it gas, the flickering goes away. What could be the problem or is this normal? It starts fine. Alternator? Lights are not dimming.

Most definately alternator problem. Get it load tested at any auto electric place and they will give you an idea of the life it has let. It could very well be just the brushes and they (the shop I deal with)will put them in for you nothing or at least cheap. Or do it yourself, whatever floats your boat.
