i tried to ask this question in the “Lighting” forum. That area gets no traffic...

Are there any good recommendations for bulb replacements on the high beam/drl bulb? LED? HID? This halogen dates the 200 so much...

Same for the fogs. Surely a LED bulb will do well in the housing.

Any way for the LED strip at the bottom of the headlight assembly function as a DRL?

Any aftermarket solutions for the tails? New tailight housings would be awesome.

I’m coming from an F150 where you can gat anything . These smaller production vehicles are awesome, but less support out there for sure.

Thanks in advance.

Generally speaking putting in HID kits or LED’s into a housing meant for halogens will not give you more light output and the cut off will be non existent, leading to high beams from opposing traffic. Unless you do a retrofit and add the appropriate lens, it will just be for looks.

On my Tundra, I was able to find a wiring harness to put in the 2018 headlights into my 2016. It was a huge improvement. I wonder if there’s something could be done to add the current headlights into older models.

If you have a 2015, then you already have HID headlights, and no way to upgrade with different bulbs.

I'm actually looking for an LED upgrade for my fogs, I hate how the bulb colors are so different.

I have to disagree about swapping out the halogen bulbs for LEDs, I did this with IPF bulbs in my 2011 and the difference was a huge upgrade.

IPF goes through a LOT more effort than most LED headlight producers to get their elements in the same location and configuration as the stock filament. But, I'd still like to see before-and-after of stock vs those bulbs on a solid wall.

I just put in IPF high beams and fog LED’s last week. High beams are a big improvement over the brownish stock bulbs. The fogs are yellow and blend well with the low beam. I purchased my IPF from Cruiser Outfitters. The yellow dogs I purchased from amazon Japan.
Quality LED product.

One $211 IPF High Beam bulb V2 failed on me in less than 90 days so I don't hold the highest opinion in their quality.

In terms of light output, it is a night and day difference, more than double. I put the high beam bulb in my fog light and it is very bright. Also, the headlight bulbs V1 were much brighter than stock 2009 halogens. I can usually see 1/4 mile down the street in pitch dark. I have been through many states and Canada with them and never been pulled over for the level of light pollution I am causing. I am still hungry for more light. I have been tempted to buy the V2 of the headlight bulb as I want even more light. V2 has new technology that makes it less blinding for oncoming traffic.

I changed out all the interior lights for super bright LED ones and the car is brighter than a well lit club at night with lights on.

I have LED high beams and amber LED fogs on my 15 that I ordered from Amazon. Very happy with the output and look.

Never having been pulled over doesn’t mean you aren’t blinding people.

Not exactly a before/after comparo, but I installed the IPF HLB2 bulbs in my 2013LC high beams and they work very well (see my post #219):

I have driven behind my car and walked directly in front of the light and asked as many friends as well to give me their opinion. No one feels its blinding directly on the eyes. I do get people high beaming from time to time and I think its because of the level of light I am putting down on the ground. Also, I notice the LED bulbs put much more light on the side of the car by 15-30 degrees more on each side. I have been trying to figure out ways to increase my light output while driving on the street.
