I did a little searching for this but could only find results for the 80 series.

I would like to either disable the sensor or wire in a switch to let me turn it on and off, but I cannot for the life of me find the sensor. I've looked all over and the best I can figure is that there's a sensor in the latching mechanism itself..

Does anyone know where this sensor is or the relevant wiring to work with? I have the dome lights turned off but the in-door courtesy lights still come on when the lift gate is open and I find myself wanting to have it open for extended periods while camping.

My pups would definitely appreciate it

The dome lights time out and shut off after 15? min. So you can leave the doors open all you want.

Swap oit the door lights woth LEDs and forgetaboutit

Any particular seller you'd recommend?

The 15 minute time out is a nice feature, though I may have to set aside a carabiner for this.

Pfran leds or superbrightled

Or just about any seller on Ebay. LED's are about a dime a dozen these days.

I switched my dome lights to Phillips LED's off of Amazon. Direct fit and more/better light.

Nite Ize SlideLock #3 carabiner works perfectly for clamping in the latch and gives you a good attachment point to hang a light or something

Any idea on specific model? LED retrofits can be so hit and miss with light coverage :/

You already ordered some so that's cool, I'll answer anyway for anyone else who reads this.
I just ordered Phillip's brand that fit my truck. Phillips is a well know good quality brand. I had originally ordered JDM Superbrights but the heat sink came off and they overheated and failed.
The Phillips has the heatsink as part of the housing. Direct fit. No modification needed.

Installed the lights last night, HUGE upgrade. Not only in energy but in brightness and quality. I went with warm white for the main overhead lights, with natural white for the doors and map lights. Note that the second row 'map lights' are the same light as the main overhead lights.

One question, the superbrightleds site said there was a glove box light, so I ordered an LED for it. I don't see any other interior lights in my 2000 LX470, is there another light aside from the 4 door lights, 4 maps lights, and 2 main overhead lights?

Thanks

I saw another thread where guys had carabiners in the latch with big obvious red tags hanging so you don’t forget.
That’s what I do, I put a warn cable pull on it

Bumping here, have been searching for where the truck gets its ajar signal from the rear hatch and haven't found anything. When I open my rear upper hatch, the cargo dome light does not come on (set to "Door"), and if I unlock the truck and open just the rear hatch, the truck will auto-lock again after a minute (not sure the factory time setting), evident that the truck doesn't believe any doors were opened.

It pretty much has to be in the upper hatch latch mechanism. The only piece that has wiring running to it that I can tell is the lock actuator - does anyone know if this controls the ajar signal to the body computer? Or is it within the latch mechanism itself?

Thanks in advance.
