Looking for a garage car lift, mainly to solve to a parking space problem. I want to park a less used smaller car on top of my Hundy, to fit two cars in one parking spot. I do not plan to work on the car except for detailing, etc.

Looking for input from members who currently have one...which ones to avoid, etc.
Thanks!

I don't have my own lift, but my experience as an auto-technician gives me lots of experience using various lifts. Most of the service lifts I have used did not have enough clearance to park a Land Cruiser underneath. I'm sure they are available with extended lift range for additional cost. The shops I have worked at both used Bend-Pak lifts.

As far as service lifts go, 4-post "drive on" designs are more stable and can offer greater weight capacity. Take care to notice the ramp designs. Many have ramps that droop as the lift raises, effectively limiting clearance on one end of the lift.

The 2-post designs offer more clearance under the lifted vehicle, but require you to position the lift arms manually.

I just checked the Bend-Pak website. They offer "parking lifts" that may be just up your alley. I have no personal experience with this type of lift.

Thanks to both of you.
