76 FJ40 ....My rear doors and license plate bracket were destroyed by a fire and i have replaced them but cant remember how the wiring works. I have a lead coming off the passenger side marker and a lead originating from a bolt in tub (ground if i remember correctly)
Can someone take some pics for me of your wiring.. I cant remember where to connect the power and ground to.....
If its not too much trouble.

Thanks!!

Side maker and license plate lights are feed from the tail light harness. Back behind post for the rear doors there is an opening on top of the wheel well. They tap into the tail light not the brake light of the red tail light light lens. Personally would run the ground all way to the frame using the same path. Basically counting on the ground to the door hinge in stock location.

I recently did one for my 79. Your wiring may be different. The passenger side marker has two wires, power (green) and ground (white with black stripe). That segment gets its power from a connector just below the tub as mentioned above.

I just tied into both wires inside the hole in the ambulance door frame. I also added a ground wire to both license plate lights. Tying in both power and ground will make for a better connection to your license plate lights.
