I noticed if you run the side-by-side comparison on the Lexus Web site the Lexus LX470 enjoys the comfort of bucket seats versus captain chairs employed on the Land Cruiser.

I wonder if there's a noticeable difference in comfort...

Link for the comparison please? Lexus trying to steal sales from Toyota ?

I didn't know there was a difference between a bucket seat and a captain's chair. I guess I'm just not Lexus material.

I don't know if there's an actual difference... the data is compiled from Edmunds.

It looks like the Lexus seats have a more bucket style stitching in the photos. I believe captain chairs are more flat in the seat area providing a "park bench" feel as opposed to the feel of a "beach chair"...

Minor detail in the broad scheme of things unless you have back problems or drive for 3-6 hours nonstop.

Aside from the more gathered leather in the LX, I don't think there is a difference. I think it's more a matter of terminology.

Crampons and an ice axe, but those are from my single days driving the '86.

I've got rope, too.

I've also got a lariat, but that's because I'm a Texan :)

I was just pickin on the pink pantie bunch. I would like to try climbing and snow shoeing one day. For now I will stick with snowboarding, surfing and fishing.

Have both there is no significant difference between seat surface in a '99 100 or '05 LX

They made the LX470 for people in California...

snow skiing in Big Bear Lake in the morning... golf in Newport Beach in the afternoon... dinner for two at the Ritz-Carlton in the evening. :D

gotta say the leather is much nicer on the Lexus....other than that.....same seats AFAIK

My experience having re-upholstered both LC and LX's is that they are the exact same. Different years have small differences but when you tear them apart, they use the same frame system. I think the LC 80's and some early 100's were re-upholstered at the port when they came into the country but having said that, there seems to be no significant difference in the quality of the hides.. Auto hides are by law treated with fire retardants so they are inheriently different from furniture hides. They are also dyed or "painted" verses tanned with oils, thats why they look like they do in six or seven years.(worn) LX's gather their leather to give it a posh look but they actually seem to wear quicker.

word to the wise..........don't ever by a car with leather owned by a chick that uses hair spray in the car............man does it fawk up leather..........took me ages to figure out why my drivers seat and headrest were do dried out(looked like an old dogs knee)......then up in the sunroof I found it................hairspray. the B**CH also must have worn a bunch of rings as the leather on the wheel is toast. Oh well

I got a guy's car. How do I know? The master key has a bunch of nicks in the plastic, evidentally from getting jingled in pants pockets along w/ coins. Women keep their keys in their purses, coins in their wallet. Oh, yeah, leather was in mint condition, too.

i got a womans car but was taken care by a male. how do i know? It was my moms and i kept it clean and in good condition knowing damn well i was going to get it when i got my licence.

The leather on my drivers seat is starting to really get worn. Im glad i have the wood steering wheel as i dont have to worry about chewing up the leather as much.

And as far as Lexus' marketing the snow theme...here are some pictures from past snow storms.
