I would like to get caught up on recommended service on my 2015 LX. The only service I have had performed is oil changes and filters every 5k miles. I know Lexus recommends fluid replacement based on mileage/age as well. I currently have 109k miles on the vehicle.

My service manual has the following recommended:

Brake Fluid: 30K miles (never done)
AHC Fluid: 60k miles (never done)
Coolant: 100k miles (never done)
Spark plugs: 120k miles

I did not see a service interval for the following:

Transmission
Power Steering
Differential
Transfer case
Drive Belt

Can someone assist in letting me know if the above items have a recommended service interval? I plan to have the brake fluid and coolant flush done with my next oil change this month.

Coolant drain and fill—A lot of places only drain the radiator but you also need to drain the block to get the majority out. Replace with Toyota Pink.

AHC—flush/bleed that.
Brakes—flush that
Spark plugs-replace
Clean the throttle body. Leave the MAF alone.
Power steering flush
Diff/TC-drain and fill
Replace engine drive belt
Transmission—drain and fill 3 times (drain, fill, drive a few minutes, repeat, set the fluid level according to the repair manual.
Put some BG 44K in a full tank of fuel and run that tank to 1/4, fill up again, then go get an oil change when you finish that 2nd tank.

But that’s just what I’d do based on mileage and time.

Does anyone know the recommended service interval for the following:

Transmission
Power steering
Front and rear diff
Transfer case

I called my local Toyota service (don’t have a lexus service in my area) and they also recommend fuel injection induction service. Not sure what that entails

Non DI turbo right?

I would not go for that inless you have an issue. The cleaning technique they use is harsh, and will clean the s*** out of the injectors........ Run some fuel system cleaner with PEA, like Techron or Gumout Regane on your next fill up. Do twice the recommended dosage. Then on that fillup, maybe half way, go down the highway in in manual ,maybe 3500 RPM, for 10 miles or so. Unless you are no into that sort of thing, then pay them i guess.

They run a very serious cleaner through the rails directly, but unless you are having issues, again, I would not do it. A normal regimen of PEA and the above rpm technique with do you good. Do this before you change your oil. IMO, this is a good practice.

BG 44K is VERY strong stuff for an off the shelf additive, too. Pungent smelling stuff—like fish oil (from the PEA). I agree, the injector or “induction service” isn’t necessary. An additive will do enough cleaning, and it probably won’t even be noticeable to the driver unless there was originally an issue.

And like you suggested, an engine oil+filter change after the tank of fuel additive is a good idea.

Cleaning the throttle body can help on the 3UR engine, especially from 80K+ miles (from what I’ve seen). it will be most noticeable at idle, and small off-idle throttle openings. Make certain to clean the edge/outside diameter of the throttle blade. Disconnect your battery for about 10 minutes, reconnect, start it (it’ll probably die immediately, so restart it again), let it re-learn idle, go for a drive.

Thanks for the feedback on the fuel system service.
