I love the Mark Levinson stereo but for the chinsey Toyota/Lexus dash and door rattles when I am driving solo and blasting my jams.

This piece on the passenger side door rattles so badly that I thought for a longtime on the speakers were blown on that side. After more careful inspection the sound I was hearing is just the rattling of this wood plate. Does anyone else have issues with dash/door rattles and how have you addressed?

Wonder if you could replace them with the earlier (08-11) parts that aren't wood. When I bought my 2010 both sides were broken, I assume removed poorly by previous technician. I replaced both from Partsouq for less than $50 I think. Mine do not rattle.

No rattles here, but I suggest removing the door card and inspecting the other side of that trim piece. Perhaps it has somehow dislodged over the years. Perhaps secure it with some strong, heat resistant glue?

How hard is it to get the door card off without breaking a bunch of tabs? Amazing how much plastic stuff I break on this truck trying to do simple things…

If it’s like the Toyotas I’ve had in the past, you should be able to pull that window switch panel out without taking the door card off. If you have a plastic spudger or gentle pry tool, try working it under the edge and prying up gently. The retainers I’ve encountered on them have aren’t likely to break and don’t have very strong retention.

Thanks. I was easily able to pry it off using plastic tools. I ended up putting a couple layers of electrical tape around the perimeter and at contact points, which seemed to quiet down the the rattles. Still hearing some from door card but that’s another battle for another day.
